Full marks for SkillsTrain home study student Full marks for SkillsTrain home study student

A SkillsTrain student has achieved Britain’s top mark in the International Association of Book-keepers examinations, scoring an A+ grade with a 96% pass rate in her Level 3, Certificate in Computerised Payroll exam.

The 45 year old mother of one, Catherine Cutts, a part time finance assistant from Worksop,  studied part time at home using a SkillsTrain home study book-keeping course,  fitting in her studies around looking after her 9 year old son and holding down a part time accounting job.

Luton’s SkillsTrain principal Myra Smallman said “This is an incredible achievement as Catherine was up against students from colleges and higher education institutes throughout the UK. She’s done brilliantly to have come out on top against such competition.

It just shows that you’re never too old or too busy to learn a skills or study and Catherine is an inspiration to us all”.

Catherine Cutts added:-
“I left school at 16 and have since worked in various accounting roles. I decided to sign up for the SkillsTrain course because I wanted a qualification, mainly to prove to myself that I could do it.  It’s already helped with my career and with my confidence because I’ve been able to take on a client’s accounts and payroll in the evenings, which allows me to fit two jobs around school hours”.
