Facebook improves communication

Those pursuing IT home study may be interested in news that social networking sites have been praised as a valuable tool for corporate communications.
Software company Reality Digital has said using social media can help businesses "communicate and collaborate more efficiently" both internally and externally.
The firm recommended that businesses adopt social networking a key method of internal communication, which could cut costs as the recession continues.
Jason Falls, a social media consultant and blogger on socialmediaexplorer.com, suggested offering staff access to sites such as Facebook can create "a much greater sense of pride in a company that embraces innovation and empowers them to use it".
As well as being a useful tool for communicating with colleagues, the sites give employees an opportunity to act as informal brand ambassadors for their work generating "positive interactions with the brand in the online space", he added.
Meanwhile, research by recruitment site HireScores.com found that many workers are increasingly turning to instant messaging to resolve issues at work.
The study found nearly one on five managers prefer to sort out problems virtually.
