16% rate online shopping as their most useful online activity

Almost one in six internet users have identified e-commerce as their most useful online activity, a study shows, emphasising the importance of web designer course graduates.
Research by Smile has found the average person will spend 7.2 years of their adult life surfing the web, which translates as approximately 19.6 hours.
Its survey found online shopping was one of the main activities, with people spending £873 a year in this manner, emphasising the importance of e-commerce to businesses.
John Barker, head of Smile, also identifies e-banking as one of the key uses individuals make of this technology, which suggests there could be vacancies for web designer course graduates in the financial services sector.
He states: "In the current economic climate, banking online does provide added benefits such as being able to monitor the money coming in and going out of accounts."
Phil Turnbull, marketing manager at Hostway, recently suggested that the video and audio content's popularity will rise in the nearby future, which could create opportunities for web designer course graduates.
