Unemployed should enrol on an IT training course

Out of work IT professionals are being advised to increase their skills-base to improve their chances of finding work once the recession is over.
IT management website Computerworld.co.uk suggests that unemployed workers should make themselves more marketable by looking for training in emerging technologies.
Siobhan Chapman, the site's deputy editor, predicted that when the recession lifts, firms are likely to bolster their IT services with Cloud computing, software as a service and virtualisation.
Ms Chapman added: "Now is the time to increase your understanding and skill-set around these emerging technologies and understand where they can give businesses a competitive advantage."
In addition to learning new skills, Ms Chapman suggested that IT managers could also work on raising their profiles to situate themselves as "thought leaders".
Creating a blog, networking at industry events or speaking at conference are some of the ways she said managers can improve their standing in the sector.
Recent research by the IT Job Board has revealed that the software market is looking more promising than hardware.
The State of the UK's IT Recruitment Market white paper indicates that software jobs now represents around 60 per cent of positions advertised, a rise of four per cent from last year.
