Public sector has need of network security course graduates

The public sector is under-resourced when it comes to data protection and could have need of network security course graduates, an organisation asserts.

Credant Technologies, a military-grade encryption specialist, claims emergency services such as the police are increasingly looking to defend their IT systems.

Paul Huntingdon, director of public services at Credant, says these are taking their lead from the US government.

He warns that effective technologies are more substantial than implementing the hardware and involve enforcing policies surrounding this, which could interest those who have completed network security courses.

"Not only are [the emergency services] taking extra security technologies on board, but they are also employing policy enforcement systems as well," Mr Huntingdon asserts.

He claims these organisations have a large number of staff operating in the field and are well positioned to implement these types of measures.
