Women should be encouraged to take IT training courses

More girls should be encouraged to take part in IT training courses in order to improve the pipeline of talent entering the industry, an expert asserts.
Director of womenintechnology.co.uk Maggie Berry claims there are not enough female professionals in the sector and says she would love to see this change.
She comments that there are not enough women studying computer science at A-level but the gender imbalance in the industry is down to a lot of factors.
Among these are the speed that the sector moves at, as taking a break to have children can often make it hard to return, she asserts, potentially showing a need for IT training courses for those planning to return to work.
Ms Berry states: "It's absolutely acknowledged that there aren't enough women [working in technology]. We know that, now what we really want to focus on is how we can change it."
Today (March 24th) is Ada Lovelace Day, commemorating the world's first computer programmer and exploring the role of women in technology.
