Specialist skills should be made as obvious as possible on job applications

Job candidates who have completed an IT training course should make this expertise as obvious as possible in their CV, an expert asserts.
Steve Huxham, chairman of the Recruitment Society, claims it is crucial for those applying for vacancies to make the most of their specialism.
He warns IT training course graduates to avoid the mistake of appearing as a generalist, as this can lead them to blend into the crowd.
Mr Huxham states: "Put individual skills [in your CV], because what people are looking for in the current market, it's really what makes you different."
He says that by picking up on skills, such as those shown through IT training courses, candidates can successfully differentiate themselves from other applicants.
Matt Cody, marketing director at NES, recently stated that jobseekers are increasingly paying attention to their job search, CVs and interview techniques when applying for positions in the current economic climate.
