Online sites best for managerial recruitment

Firms looking for managerial staff should make greater use of online recruitment tools, it has been claimed.

According to internet-based employment specialist GoRecroot, the current soft employment figures mean many firms with mid-level positions available receive hundreds of resumes from unqualified applicants.

"When no successful candidate emerges, companies may spend thousands of dollars on advertising or recruiting firms hoping to find the right candidate, or they simply settle for an unqualified one," the company added.

The group went on to state that online sites capable of intelligent resume sourcing can overcome this problem and help companies find the best applicant for hard-to-fill positions.

Earlier this week Jason Greaves, head of commercial staffing at Manpower UK, told Onrec.com that developing a strong and diverse selection of skills enables those looking for employment in the current economic climate to stand out from the crowd.

He added that the importance of training cannot be underestimated in a job search.
