More financial services turn to IT solutions

The financial services sector in the UK is increasingly demanding IT industry expertise for cloud computing, it has been revealed.
According to press relations firm Six Degrees, the control and reduction of costs while maintaining revenues and finding new markets has become more difficult in the current economic climate and has led more firms to seek IT solutions, which may be of interest to those graduating from online computer courses.
Steve Jarrett, managing director of technology services provider Worldflow, commented: "We firmly believe that the software-as-a-service environment will grow in the financial services arena to address a wide range of functional areas."
Earlier this week, the Chartered Institute of Marketing claimed developments in technology are changing the face of marketing, underlining the need for web design and e-commerce distance learning.
Research projects manager at the organisation Thomas Brown commented that IT platforms are an efficient method of reducing marketing spend during an economic downturn.
