Interview follow-ups essential in job search

Follow-up behaviour after a job interview can be crucial in securing a position, it has been claimed.
According to Joy Gendusa, chief executive of PostcardMania, any follow-up instructions offered by would-be employers should be closely followed.
She continued: "Sometimes the most important part of the interview comes after the interview. After each interview, always write a 'thank you' email to the human resources director."
Ms Gendusa added that candidates should take care of basics such as arriving early, preparing extra copies of a resume and bringing examples of past work and a list of references.
She went on to emphasise there is a fine line between jobseekers being confident and cocky during an interview.
Earlier this month, Gary Zukowski, an entrepreneur who has created TweetMyJOBS.com, a firm which connects companies and candidates using Twitter, commented that jobseekers and employers are increasingly looking to make use of social media during the recruitment process.
