Employees trained in bookkeeping more in demand

The need for staff with specialist bookkeeping training and experience has increased over the last six months, it has been revealed.
According to recruitment firm Hays, the increasing focus on compliance and regulation within the financial services industry has led to a greater requirement for individuals with regulatory experience.
James Crichton, senior business manager at Hays Treasury a subsidiary of the organisation, commented: "Employers are looking for accounting and systems-based personnel, in contrast to the same period a year ago when we were experiencing a very high demand for treasury operations managers."
Mr Crichton went on to say that employers are looking for accomplished technical and behavioural competencies when recruiting corporate treasury jobs.
Last week, communications provider Verizon Business claimed flexibility is vital for firms looking to improve their technology and network environments.
The group went on to say IT performance is taking on new meaning in today's challenging business environment and companies must be more proactive in managing their applications.
